Barbara Morgan STEM Academy

Barbara Morgan S.T.E.M. Academy is a K-5 school of choice. Although all standards are taught, there is an emphasis on the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are systematically taught and reinforced through hands-on, project-based activities that correlate to the District Science curriculum and focus on real-world application. The foundations of the academic program are based on inquiry learning, integrated instruction and the instructional alignment of concepts. Spaces are limited and a lottery process is utilized to place students. Please contact the school for more information on their programming and enrollment.

 A Note From Mr. Wilhite

Parents of Kindergartners for next year,

It’s time for the next step in kindergarten registration for new students entering Kindergarten for 2014-2015.  Many of you have already given me the name of your child entering kindergarten and that is great.  The next step that must take place, is to click on the gold “online application” icon on this home page and fill out the form.
Make sure you fill it out completely.  This process actually puts your kindergarten child on the list for school here next year.  You must fill out the application form in order for your Kindergartner to attend school here next year.  You have until January 24, 2014 to get your application finished.  Should you miss that deadline you will no longer have sibling priority registration and could miss out on placement at BMSA
I do have my list of parents that indicated having a kindergarten student next year.  I will be watching the applications online to make sure that I have all of those students entered in the application process.  I will give you reminder calls the last week of the application window if I do not see your student’s name on the list.
When you fill out the application, you will be asked questions about where you live, are they a sibling, which boundary (primary, or secondary) etc.  All the questions will help the district prioritize your students position on the enrollment list for next year.  If you do not have access to the internet please feel free to come to the school and use one of our computers.  Feel free to call BMSA if you have any questions during your enrollment completion. We will be glad to help!
Be sure to pass this information along to your neighbors and friends that would like to have their child attend here next year.

Kind Regards,
Mr. Wilhite
