About Us

There was a time when small schools and low student-teacher ratios dominated public education. Many older people reflect fondly on an era when schools were free from so many of the problems that plague them today. Today, many rural schools and a few urban schools continue to benefit from small enrollments and highly personalized classrooms where everyone knows each other and cooperation and respect remain integral components of the learning environment (Barr & Parrett, 1997).

Crossroads Middle School opened in 1997. It is truly a school of choice. It was designed to assist those students in the 7th and 8th grade who struggle within the large, traditional middle schools. Students gain confidence through their achievements at Crossroads; a learning atmosphere that embraces hands on learning, innovative technologies, smaller class sizes and block scheduling.

Mission:

Developing courage, fostering commitment, and building character in preparation for life's challenges.

Vision:

We see a school where students, parents, staff, and community are focused on learning.  As a family of learners, each is valued and essential. Crossroads is a safe and inclusive place where innovative practices are used to develop caring members of a diverse society.  We will commit to meeting and exceeding academic proficiency and growth for all students.  Crossroads Middle School will strive to achieve and maintian these standards.
