Joint School District No. 2 has developed important community partners and partnerships that have helped the district meet the demands of a growing school district and the need to develop educational programs that will meet the requirements of a changing workplace.

One example among many is the district's partnership with Idaho State University.  Currently, the school district and ISU share a common building, where both organizations operate a number of educational programs.  Through this partneship, both organizations have saved money for facilities by designing and building common spaces -- the library, classrooms, food service -- used by ISU's college students and the school district's Renaissance High School students.

This economic partnership benefits the students academically.  For Renaissance High School students, the proximaty of Idaho State University allows them to earn college credits.  For Idaho State University, the Renaissance program becomes a pipeline for students interested in pursuing a career in the health sciences.

In the end, our community will benefit as the two programs create young people trained in one of the area's fastest growing industries -- health care.
