It is the philosophy of the
Meridian
Joint
School District to provide students with an opportunity to participate in programs that meets their interests and individual talents. As a district we encourage participation for all age groups and skill abilities. At the middle school level there is an emphasis placed on skill development, team unity and sportsmanship. Competition will be an additional area of emphasis as the skill level increases. At the high school level the emphasis on competition naturally heightens. All programs will strive to provide self-esteem, confidence, and discipline through the social, emotional, and physical opportunities that occur when participating in activities and athletics. |

|
Middle school students will be able to participate at competitive levels in volleyball, football, cross country, basketball, wrestling, tennis, and track. The interscholastic competition occurs amongst the seven district middle schools, Eagle, Heritage,
Lake
Hazel, Lewis and Clark, Lowell Scott,
Meridian, and Sawtooth. |
