The Meridian Joint School District provides more educational job opportunities than any school district in the state of Idaho.  With new student enrollment increasing by more than 1,000 students a year, the district is regularly looking for quality teaching applicants.  This year district's enrollment grew by more than 1,700 students, and the district opened two new elementary schools and a new alternative middle school.  For the 2007-2008 school year, the district will open a elementary school, new K-8 magnet school, and a new middle school.  In fall 2008 the district will open a new high school.  Because of the increasing enrollment and the opening of new schools, the district hired 175 teachers this year to fill new positions and to fill positions vacated by retiring educators.
