REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
April 24, 2007

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees, Joint School District No. 2, has been rescheduled to 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the District Service Center, 1303 E. Central Drive, Meridian, Idaho.  The board may meet in an executive session at 8:00 a.m.  Immediately following, the board may recess and reconvene in regular session, same location.  

Agenda Outline

I.				CALL MEETING TO ORDER
II.				EXECUTIVE SESSION - 8:00 a.m. In accordance with § 67-2345, Idaho Code, the board may elect to hold an executive session to discuss personnel matters, discuss legal matters, discuss negotiations, assign employee probations, and to consider property acquisitions, transfers or sales.
IV.				REGULAR SESSION - 8:15a.m.
	A.			Consent Agenda items recommended for approval:
		1.		Employment Recommendations
		2.		Summary of Leave Requests
		3.		Reduction of teachers Sharon Borton and Donna Hart's full-time contracts to .5 FTE at MMS for the 2007-2008 school year
		4.		Non-resident student enrollment requests for the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 school year
		5.		Improvement to school properties:
				a.  Crossroads Middle School, picnic/seating area, funding provided by Meridian Sanitary Services, labor provided by the Builder's Club, students and staff
				b.  Star Elementary, installation of signage on front of building, funding provided through the PTO
		6.		Establishment of 3D Animation Club at Mountain View High School
		7.		Provisional certification for Janna Dunagan to work as a teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Joint School District No. 2 for the remainder of the 2006-2007 school year
		8.		Change Order No. 4, Rocky Mountain High School to various contractors in the amount of $70,572.00
		9.		Recommendation to award bids to the lowest responsible bidders for  Phase II of the District Service Center, in the amount of $1,097,837
		10.		Recommendation for student expulsions

JOINT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 - BOARD MEETING PROCEDURES

The public is invited and encouraged to attend school board meetings. Requests to place an item on the agenda must be submitted to the superintendent at least four (4) working days prior to a scheduled board meeting. Patrons interested in placing an item on the agenda should meet with school or district officials prior to submitting a request. The board strongly encourages patrons to first communicate with a school or the district office before bringing items to the board level. All agenda items must be approved by the board chairman.
