Standards Based Report Card - With Examples |
In the Fall of 2008, the district began taking steps toward a more complete and informative way to report student learning. Called a standards-based report card, this method of reporting student achievment focuses on telling students and parents what has been taught, learned, and what students know how to do. |
By aligning the report card with state learning standards, the goal of the new reporting system is to help families better understand if their student has mastered the topics being taught in the required subject areas in each grade level.
This year teachers will take the first steps toward a standards-based report card by reporting student achievement in math using the new system in grades K through 5. In future years, if it proves successful, the system will be expanded to more subject areas and grades.
