Each student and employee in Joint School District No. 2 is set up with an account in the Food Nutrition Services system. A student or employee identification number is used to access the account to purchase either breakfast or lunch. This is a prepayment system that allows any amount of money to be placed on the account. In emergency situations, elementary (K-5) students may charge up to $5.50. It is recommended that students place money on accounts before school, during breakfast or during break. Students who qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program will also have a lunch account.

For the convenience of our patrons, we now offer three options to pay for meals or place money on accounts: Cash, Check (made payable to Food Nutrition Services) and MealpayPlus.

MealpayPlus (www.mealpayplus.com) is an online service that provides patrons the convenience and information to manage meal accounts. The system speeds up serving lines in the cafeteria, eliminates the need to send checks to school or worry about lost/forgotten lunch money, and ensures that students will receive a nutritious meal.

At no cost, MealpayPlus allows parents to:

·         Create a free, secure account to manage all student accounts

·         Check current account balances

·         Monitor items purchased in the cafeteria

·         Establish settings to receive e-mail notifications of lunch accounts with a low balance

For a small program fee, MealpayPlus also allows parents to:

·         Make a prepayment on a meal account using a check, credit or debit card at www.mealpayplus.com. Funds deposited through MealpayPlus are usually available for student use within minutes of the transaction.

·         Create settings to automatically replenish a meal account with a low balance

All balances remaining on accounts at the end of the school year will carry over to the beginning of the next school year.
