Healthy Youth, Healthy Community
"Why do some kids grow up with ease, while others struggle?"
Many factors influence why some young people have success in life and why others have a harder time. The SEARCH Institute has identified 40 concrete, positive experiences and qualities - developmental assets - that help young people make wise decisions, choose positive paths, and grow up competent, caring and responsible.
The assets that families have the most influence and control over include:
- Family Support
- Positive Family Communication
- Parent Involvement in Schools
The Meridian School District Parent Education Program offers many classes during the year that support parents, families and child care providers, as well as supply the tools needed to raise healthy, responsible and caring kids
