DRUGFREE IDAHO 

Parent Project 

A highly structured parenting skills program created to help parents prevent and intervene in the most destructive adolescent behaviors.  The Parent Project meets specific needs of parents with strong-willed or out-of-control children, offering practical no-nonsense solutions to the problems parents face today.

The Parenting Challenge is designed to meet the needs of parents in the workplace and community.  The class will address issues in effective prevention of substance abuse, delinquent behavior, and child abuse/neglect behaviors.

The goals of the program are to:

  1. enrich family relationships,
  2. reduce substance abuse and its related problems among the family, and
  3. promote healthy environments that build resistance to social and personal dysfunction.

Throughout the school year, DrugFree Idaho offers classes to parents and their students in 5th and 6th grade. General information about drug abuse, signs and symptoms, current trends, and prevention tips are presented by School Resource Officers and School Counselors.
