Page 1 of 3 A delicious and well-balanced breakfast and lunch is prepared fresh daily in your school's cafeteria. All meals are nutritionally analyzed and portions are set according to grade level.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are included in the menus and all hot foods are either oven-baked or steamed to maintain the maximum amount of nutrients.
Two entrées are offered daily on the lunch menu along with three side dishes and milk. Each student must chose one entrée and at least two of the remaining items. We encourage all students to choose milk with their meal every day.
Menus are published in hardcopy on a monthly basis and will be sent home with your student.
Applications for free/reduced priced meals are available in your school's office and kitchen. Applications are evaluated according to income and family size.
The Meridian Joint School District Nutrition Program utilizes a computerized meal accounting system. Each student is set up with an account and issued a meal card with a student identification number/barcode to access the account. Money may be placed on your student's account by using their meal card. The best time for students to place money on their account is before school. Please note that the meal cards will remain at the school and students will be able to use them for both breakfast and lunch. For your convenience, you may deposit any amount of money on your student's account. Checks should be made payable to your school's nutrition program. Charges can be made in emergencies only. All charges need to be paid on the following day.
Guests are always welcome to join the students for breakfast and lunch. Please notify the kitchen when you plan on coming so that the proper number of meals can be prepared.
If you have any questions regarding your student's meal account, please call the School Nutrition Center at your school.
