WHAT IS KINDERGARTEN?
Kindergartners learn by experiencing and doing. The kindergarten
program focuses on instruction that builds a strong basis for enabling
each student to be a thinker and doer. Activities emphasize verbal
interaction and listening, beginning reading, writing and math, problem
solving and thinking skills, personal engagement and special events.
EARLY CHILDHOOD VISION STATEMENT
Positive partnerships among home, school and the community promote the
development of lifelong learning. Early Childhood Education establishes
a foundation for learning based upon a nurturing environment that is
safe and secure. Of utmost importance is the fostering of optimal
growth of all children academically, socially, physically and
emotionally while addressing the individual needs of students and
families within an increasingly diverse community.
Our educational community is committed to maximizing the development of
the “whole child” through age appropriate experiences that foster
academic success.
Our children use social skills, logical reasoning, and their ability to
understand and communicate their ideas and feelings. Families and
children have opportunities to actively participate and learn within
the school community. The district collaborates with community
agencies and accesses community resources to support the success of
Early Childhood Education. Continually expanding educational choices
within the district will meet the diverse needs of our children.
