How can I earn college credit in high school?
Through "Tech Prep" agreements with Idaho technical colleges, Meridian School District high school students may receive college credit while taking magnet classes at the three technical centers i.e. Renaissance Professional-Technical Center, Meridian Professional-Technical Center and the Dehryl D. Dennis Technical Education Center.
How to earn credits?
Enroll in an approved tech prep program through your high school instructor
Earn a "B" or better in your approved high school course
Maintain a high school cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
Why enroll in a Tech Prep program?
These credits are transferable and can be applied toward technical certificates, Associate of Applied Science degrees, and /or Bachelor of Applied Science degrees. This saves on college expenses, it can shorten time needed to complete the college program, and it helps students transition from high school to college and then to a career.Credits are entered onto a college or university transcript, making them easily transferable to other institutions.
What are the costs?
Students can register for these credits at little or no cost.
