OVERVIEW
What is a magnet school?
A magnet school is a school of choice, or a school within a school, designed around a unique instructional approach, area of emphasis, student population - even the school calendar. For example, the Meridian Joint School District offers art-based elementary magnet schools, vocational-technical magnet programs at the high school level, and year-round schools where parents can select a different school calendar.
Following is information on the variety of magnet schools the Meridian Joint School District currently offers and the elementary, middle and high school levels.
