The self contained gifted programs are designed for gifted students with a minimum 130 full scale IQ who are not performing to their potential in their current classrooms. No district transportation is provided for these programs. Parents/guardians must provide their own transportation unless they can connect with an existing bus stop in the school zone of the school they are attending for the self contained program. The Meridian School District curriculum is followed but students are presented skills at their appropriate readiness level and are expected to learn concepts based curriculum at a much greater depth of understanding with a greater emphasis on project-based learning. The affective curriculum for the gifted students in the pull-out program is also covered in these self-contained programs.
