1. We MUST use blocking software; it’s the law.
2. The other big issue is bandwidth: we have 11,000 computers in our district and one shared “soda straw” for Internet access. (testing, TeacherTube, Discovery Education, library software, databases, food service, PowerSchool)
3. If you encounter a blocked site, you may fill out the unblock request form. Please consider these ideas first:
- Are you sure you spelled the site address correctly? (goggle.com)
- Is it likely that you can find that information on a different website?
- Why do you think the website might be blocked? (test it!)
- Is this an “education-related” website that other teachers or students could use? |
